Perhaps one reason why the Scots have to have more spent on them is that they are probably the most unhealthy people in the United Kingdom, a combination of a terrible climate, too much beer and fags and an atrocious diet. The Scots traditionally ate more fish than the English and if they had stuck to their fish suppers rather than being brainwashed into eating American junk food then they might have been healthier (not to mention the deep fried mars bars ). Another reason why less is spent on the English is perhaps because we are paying for any health tourist who rolls up in London. Perhaps free health care should only be available to those who, with their forebears, have paid into the National Insurance pot since its inception before the First World War. Now wouldn't that cause a storm!! - Anonymous

I thought everybody knew it! this is no surprise to me at all. How is this a democracy? where equality supposed to rule throughout the UK yet disparity lies on our very doorstep. But like sheep we English have been so sublimated by the system that we neither question or rebel any-more. We've been sheared to the bone and our young men are sent to fight and die for it. I for one would happily say Goodbye to the Scots, the Welsh and the Northern states of Ireland. England was where the NHS was created so where is our share of care? - Diane Mundell
